Why give now?

The short answer is because of the extra time and supplies COVID-19 is costing our Agency to assure the safety of our clients and staff.

Starting in March, we began the extra procedures and made extra purchases in accordance with the CDC, Indiana Health Department, and BEACON Health.  Things like:

  • Extensive vehicle cleaning between clients

  • End of day vehicle cleaning

  • Fogger used to deep clean the vehicles weekly

  • Masks and gloves for all drivers and caregivers

  • Office cleaning supplies

  • Professional commercial sterilization of the office quarterly

That doesn’t include the time and work hours spent on those duties.  Even the small things add up.  Over 750 hours and over $25,000 have been spent to show that our number one priority is to keep everyone we interact with safe and that includes all of our clients, staff, volunteers and Board members.

Looking forward, experts are saying COVID-19 will still be in our lives.  That means COA is planning for over 1,000 extra hours and over $38,000 on COVID-19 expenses for the next year.  That is time and money taken away from our clients who need it more than we can imagine.

Please, give today.  Each dollar goes toward helping a needed senior.  As the saying goes, “a generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
